For 01/24 rehearsal:

  1. Listen to Ecce Cor Meum : Rehearsal 12 to end of movement (15).
  2. Listen to REVOLUTION – pay attention to the triplets.

1) YESTERDAY

  • Give your triplets “a bit of shape
  • ALTOS : bring out your dissonance
  • Meas 9: remember to cress. to the mf
  • Meas 15&16: Listen for ALTOS
  • Meas 24 : Listen TENORS
  • BASS : Change to D’AH’s starting at measure 10
  • BASS : Thou shall be “precise and secure”

(2) Ecce Cor Meum

  • Watch those evil “S”s
  • Sing “nice/centralized words (North/South – Yah! E/W – Booo!) Sing w/ TALL VOWELS (not spread out)
  • “Be expressive”
  • Need to work on those vowels (eg. “Teach uh s’to find our luv”)
  • meas. 141 – Sops and Altos – little lift at end
  • meas. 142 – watch for dissonance on the 3rd beat

AND… There were new markings up to measure 167. Be sure to get them before rehearsal on Tuesday (the 24th)!

The copies of Revolution & Yesterday are yours to mark up however you wish.

HOWEVER…The Ecce Cor Meum books ARE RENTALS!! Thou shall (1) take great care with your book; (2) be responsible for REMOVING any marks you make in your book.

Do remember to bring back/return your WINTER music and give it to MELODY K. (alto)

There will be a mystery song  to be sung with children’s chorus – TBD.

When singing, remember to CENTRALIZE YOUR SOUND or “reduce your jaw flappin’. “

a note from jason monday night

JASON SAYS:

I hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend!!  I just wanted to send an email to remind you of the dress rehearsal tomorrow night at the new UHS auditorium.  You can park in the front parking lot and go into the doors with “Auditorium” above.  Please come at 7:00 PM so that we can do a warm up and get you set on the risers so we can start the run through as close to 7:30 as possible.
